According to Ayurveda an imbalanced dosha leads to poor health and disease. The doshas control the creation, maintenance and breakdown of bodily tissue and elimination of waste as well as psychological aspects such as emotions, understanding and love. When balanced the dosha’s maintain the system of the body when one of the dosha’s increases. Due to certain diet and lifestyle habits imbalance is created, Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest forms of Holistic medicine and still widely used today. many health professionals question the belief of personal dosha’s due to a lack of scientific proof, Ayurveda is built around the five elements of ether, ai, fire, water and Eart. The unique combination of these elements come together to make up the dosha’, the constitutions of vata, pitta and kapha. Dosha has a number of corresponding qualities that are expressed in the physical, emotional and mental aspects of one being.
What are the qualities of the five elements?
Ether is the most subtle element associated with the quality of space.

Fire is associated with the quality of heat and transformation.
Water is associated with the quality of cohesion.
Earth is associated with the quality of structure.

Vata is the vital energy that governs all movement in the body. It is composed of the air and ether elements. The air element is associated with movement. The ether element is associated with expansion. When these two elements combine, energy is created that is constantly moving and changing.
