What is cough?

Types of coughs

Wet (Productive) Cough:

Produces sticky mucus, phlegm, clearing air pipe.

Dry (Nonproductive) cough:

Acute Cough:

This is due to viral infections like fly & lasts for 3 weeks or less.

Chronic cough:

Home remedies

Herbs to treat cough

1. Tulsi is best herb- 2-5 leaves of Tulsi add in a boiling water. Let it warm & drink sip by sip.
2. Ginger Crush half inch piece of ginger. Add in a boiling water. Add half pinch of turmeric, natural turmeric drink this kadha warm.
3. Honey. Half spoon Honey during or before sleeping.
4. Golden milk (haldi milk)- Drink a cup of turmeric milk warm before sleeping .
5. Kadha – Boil 2 Tulsi leaves + small piece cinnamon + 2 cloves + 2 black pepper seed in a cup. If you want to add sugar. Add half a teaspoon or as required. (Avoid sugar if you are diabetic.)

6. Heat ajwain (OVA) on a pan (tawa) and take a steam.
7. Take hot steam you can add ajwain in boiled water
8.  Apply eucalyptus oil over nose, cheats & head
9. Keep yourself warm, wear sweaters, muffler, and scarf, keep your feet warm by wearing Socks. Don’t drink cold water, drink worm water throughout the day.
Drink hot- warm soups. Keep your diet liquid more than solid.
Do not sleep move than 1/2 hour during daytime. Do not sleep in A.C.rooms or directly under fan. Maintain exercise routine, include yoga & pranayama.

3) Pippali – (Long Pepper) – Pippali is used to enhance respiration.
4) Mulethe – (Licorice) Root – Mulethi soothe and clears respiratory tract.
